Land-Centered Learning and Experiences

We offer immersive and culturally-rooted land-based teachings and experiences designed for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, organizations, and individuals. Our offerings encompass on-the-land workshops, teachings, and activities facilitated by Indigenous Elders, traditional knowledge keepers, and helpers. These practices are thoughtfully crafted to foster a profound connection between relatives and allies, the Land, the natural world, and ancestral ways.

Land-Centered Learning Services

Traditional Ecological Knowledge Workshops

We host workshops that delve into the wisdom of Indigenous ecological knowledge that has been passed down through generations of experience and history on this Land. We provide opportunities for people to learn how Indigenous communities have always harmoniously coexisted with this Land for centuries. This might involve an experiential learning process with Elders and knowledge holders, specific curriculum delivered on the Land, or activities such as local plant medicine walks.

Land-Based Skill Development

We provide opportunities for your group to learn essential land-based skills, such as harvesting, making fire, beading, language, horseback riding, and cooking traditional foods. These activities also involve learning land-based knowledge and wisdom, which have guided the social, economic, political and spiritual governance of Indigenous peoples since the beginning of time.

Customized Land-Based Retreats

We provide tailored experiences for groups or organizations that wish to immerse themselves in specific teachings or practices on the Land. These educational and/or professional experiences can be single or multi-day trips with a  focus on Indigenous land-based activities, teachings and ethics.

Climate Change Capacity Building

We engage your group on the importance of Indigenous land-based knowledge and methods in tackling the ever-present global climate crisis. We can assist in the creation of a climate action plans through the lens of reconciliation. We co-create experiential land-based curriculum that focuses on the principles of responsible land stewardship and sustainable practices from an Indigenous perspective.
